Ok Away

Through our Ok Away App we use gps mapped based technology to help travellers connect better with family and friends for peace of mind and safety. Ok Away App users can invite family and friends to the app so they follow each other and view one another’s mapped location and travel history. Travellers can share itineraries, new travel companions, travel insurance details and family/friends will receive alerts when they arrive/depart of fail to turn up to travel itinerary locations. The app further shares local time of all users, battery levels, checkin and safety alerts for inactivity and low battery. Users can also set up their own place alerts for any location. The app users GPS based technology and AI to warn travellers about emergency events in their or their follows location. And in the event that a traveller does go missing, our social enterprise ‘Missing Pages’ is linked through the app. This means family and friends can post a photo and details of the missing traveler which will appear on our Community Page of the Ok Away App and website. Our system also automatically sends a push notification with this information to all our users within a 350km radius of where the person went missing in any world location. When a new missing person is posted, Ok Away will then commence a location targeted advertising campaign for that missing person. We pass on all credible leads to local police, relevant embassies or SAR crews. We encourage locals to print and share our missing person posters which are automatically generated when the information is posted. In the past we have been able to send out media releases and further information in the local language with assistance from locals who have viewed our campaigns. Every campaign is different depending on the situation of the missing travellers. In 2015 we launched a Go Fund Me Campaign in collaboration with SAR Dogs Nepal to raise funds for a recovery effort to locate 100 tourists missing in the Nepal Earthquake. To date we have run over 30 campaigns for missing travellers worldwide. Ok Away also sells a collection of travel safety products through our app and website. A portion of proceeds from this goes towards supporting the ‘Missing Pages’ social enterprise to help find missing travellers. Ok Away was officially launched in January 2021. The app is available free on Android and IOS in app stores worldwide. Ok Away partnered with successful Israeli start up Air Doctor this year and are looking at further partnerships. We’re also looking to add mapped Covid hotspots and vaccination rates to our community page, so travellers can view this important information in their world location. We’re really excited about Ok Away. The app is gaining traction, but we need to take it to the next level with investment.
